After being cut from "The Marine 3" starring role, Randy Orton has been named the lead star in WWE Studios's sequel to the "12 Rounds" movie.
According to Variety, Orton will star in "12 Rounds: Reloaded," which is a direct-to-video project. Orton will play an "Emergency Medical Technician who finds himself caught in a deadly 12-round game of cat and mouse with a vigilante tied to the paramedic's past."
Production on the sequel to John Cena's "12 Rounds" movie is slated to begin September 26 in Vancouver, Canada. It could lead to Orton taking time off from the WWE schedule to film the movie, similar to The Miz taking time off to film "Marine 3" earlier this year.
Variety reports that Reloaded is the second movie in a three-movie deal between WWE Studios and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Twentieth Century will distribute the movie on home video platforms and WWE will promote the movie through their various promotional outlets. A scheduled release date has not been announced.
