By the end of 2017, Republicans seemingly coerced him into becoming their representative of the Rust Belt, and his book became a bestseller.
He then adopted this new angry white-resentment persona to pursue a Senate seat in Ohio, and is now being considered as a potential VP candidate. Like most, he initially criticized Trump in 2016 but after he got famous, he began to support Trump.
