"Kick them out. All of them! I promise them death, disease, violence, destruction and all forms of darkness. These people, they are incapable of self-governing. They are incapable of protecting their own children. They should be under the boots of Egyptian intelligence and Jordanian intelligence. Whoever raises his head will be crushed. And why is this considered ethnically cleansing? You know, it's natural. When we have a rabid dog, we separate the rabid dog from the other dogs... And I believe that the Gazans [are] in a desperate need for a quarantine in Egypt..."
"By the way, this goes not only for Gazans. It goes also for the West Bankers. And it goes for the Arabs in Israel who don't respect. Who don't respect and don't understand their duty and their loyalty toward their flag and toward the lives of the country that is hosting them."
"[US President Trump,] you don't have to call [Egyptian President] al-Sissi. If [he] opens [his] mouth, the High Dam, one missile, 80 million people will be floating in the Mediterranean Sea." The audience laughs, applauding with popcorn-greased hands.
Something of the fantasies harbored by Yousef himself is revealed when someone in the audience asks whether he has ambitions to lead the Palestinians in the future. "Only on one condition. If they come kneeling before me, asking for help sincerely, deep from their hearts, and say, 'You know what, all the cards are in your hands, lead us. Whatever you ask, we will do. We will obey.' The spirit of a master and a follower only. Not a leader and citizens. Then I may take the task."
"When I saw the Gazans dying, I could not shed a tear. I couldn't feel compassion toward these people. You can say that I'm an evil person. You can say that I'm a psychopath who does not have compassion for others. I could not have compassion. I have a sister. She might have some children under the rubble. I was indifferent."
