This Edge/Undertaker Hell in the Cell promo from 2008

First of all.. I had to catch myself in realizing that this was 10 years ago

But look at how they packaged this, Undertaker was making his grand return after being in exile for the summer, Edge was pushed into a dark place(character wise) and he wanted to show that he was twisted enough to hang with Taker. From attacking Foley, Attacking Chavo, Manipulating Vickie.. Edge was definitely on one

Then I watched the HITC match itself and it was clearly the end of the Ruthless Aggression era. Even though it didn't have any blood I enjoyed the match. The commentary with JR and Taz is a breath of fresh of air in comparison to this mundane shyt we hear today. It was a intense back and forth with Edge surprisingly dominating Taker for the latter part of the match. The infamous spear through the cage was just


Then Taker chokeslamming him through the ring was the perfect way to end the feud and chapter. They don't tell stories like this in the ring no more.

One of the best Cell matches in my opinion, storytelling was very good. Loved the part when Undertaker gets his ultimate revenge on Edge by chokeslamming him through tables, using the spear and doing the con-chair-to on...and then finally ending him with a Tombstone






































Until they fukked it up by doing that god awful Jeff Hardy/KOZLOV /HHH angle.....and remember Edge was the one who took the 3 count not

Edge was bringing it to Taker but Taker closed him out... Chokeslam through the tables, tombstone on the steps and a chokeslam through the ring.. He damn near killed ol boy

I remember thinking the same thing.

It's crazy I don't even remember being that Into that match/feud. WWE has fallen off so swiftly and completely that the randomest feuds look like classics.

WM30 has to be the last real feud/storyline/angle that was built and given a satisfying end. I swear there are no real stories being told anymore this is the most bland , boring , cookie cutter era of wrestling I've ever half watched

That was payback.

At Survivor Series the year before, Edge came back as a cameraman and cost Undertaker the World Heavyweight Championship. He was facing Batista inside Hell in a Cell.

He had been speared and hit with the Con-Chair-To many times before.

He was going to make Edge feel what he felt.

That's long-term storytelling at work.

EDIT: One thing I forgot to mention. When Undertaker left the ring, saw Edge trying to recover and went back inside to finish him off, that's exactly what Edge did when he cashed in Money in the Bank on Undertaker and won the WHC. That was the start of their feud.

I even remember during his entrance at Summerslam he had a crazy look on his face. Made us believe as if he knew he was about to get sent straight to hell

one of the last feuds WWE did where from start to finish, it was just well done. It's not the best ever but it was good and after it ended I had stopped watching weekly for the rest of 08 and completely in 09. Feud had good matches which escalated in violence each time they met which is what a feud should have, not just regular old matches every week.

also this feud is more the end of "TV-14" era than the RA era

There was an even better one before that - where it ended with Vickie demonically laughing and you see quick flashes of all of the terrible things that Taker had done to people in HIAC. I watched the hell out of that promo.

Pity WWE or some other third party flagged it.

If it weren't for this feud and Jericho/HBK then 2008 would've been a dud.
