He fought tonight? 
Somewhat true. But he's not necessarily plodding either. I think his hand/foot speed is about average. I haven't been able to spot any glaring weaknesses in his game in any fight i've seen. He's extremely well rounded offensively and just might be the hardest puncher in the sport today p4p. Power like THAT is the great equalizer in boxing and can work to cancel out alot of flaws. But his opposition has been been very limited and so it's hard to really assess. He hasn't been in the ring with anybody truly elite. Seems like he isn't going to be able to get Stevenson due to network politics. But i want to see how he'd fare against a guy like Pascal or even Dawson. Or somebody that can take his power and give him some rounds.

definitely one of the hardest punchers in the sport. i might put GGG ahead in terms of P4P power only because GGG often doesnt even look like he is trying hard and somehow damages the hell out of people with effortless looking punches while kovalev looks like he is really putting his body into a lot of his punches.
