Any ableton users on here? I've used FL for a while but I think the workflow is starting to hamper me. I'm gonna give the ableton trial a go, but was just wondering if anyone on here used it and what are the pros/cons you see.

I'm running the Ableton demo. I think I will make the jump. It take a while to get past the dull layout, but once you do this thing is deadly.

FL is better if you want to do mostly trap-type beat (midi and automation is better). If you are doing sampling beats, go Ableton.

Basically if I was leaning towards FL, I'd get Maschine. :yeshrug: Ableton give me something different.

yeah I want to get my sampling game up much more. the other thing that gets my interest is my MPC Live is completely mapped and can control ableton. Gonna download the demo and see from there

I was thinking about ableton as far as mixing and master ....cause the sequencer in maschine MK3 is very Ableton like . I'll have to see cause now native Instruments is talking about creating a DAW like experience with the mk3 were you can do a song from start to finish ...

I am comfortable and I love you
Ableton let me do beats with certain samples I only dreamed about making before. Real time timestretching, automating warping of samples to your projects BPM, and the many ways you can choose to do the same thing (chopping with warp markers and putting the samples in racks or cutting your samples by hand in arrangement view) are great workflow enhancers. They just keep putting in shyt I knew I needed but didn't think about, like time stretching of individual chops to your bpm, so now I can chop up a joint, lay drums, and play with the BPM without having to worry about space between chops.

If you already have other software, Ableton link is built in and lets you sync up with a push of a button. I did this a lot with Maschine, using that for drums and Ableton for samples.

As far as the whole "it looks boring" thing. you can change the color scheme. :yeshrug:

Basically all of the MPC screens and such are integrated with ableton allowing you to seamlessly work for the two. For example, I like to chop samples via the hardware, but all my cuts will be present in ableton realtime.

I can do anything on ableton its the absolute best.

That's what I exclusively use at this point now as far as making music is concerned.

The Glue compressor and Multiband :noah:

Polyphonic audio to midi algorithm :noah:

The time stretching and detection algorithms :noah:

Build in Spectrum analyzer and EQ with solo function :lawd:

Ableton is my side heaux.

Fl strengths is in the sequencing and some of its modular-esque features like pacther and all the routing and automation features.
