Thinking about a new laptop

So my old joint is now after 4 years. (was a Sony vaio). Was thinking about that Mac book air. I don't need my computers to do too much outside of surf the web and work on presentations. Not sure for 1100 this shyt is worth it.

Well, the good news is that if thats all u do with a computer, mac book should last u ten years

Well, if you like wasting money then go with a Mac

But if you're actually interested in value then you could get an equally good PC for half that. Considering all you're doing is going on the net and office stuff, all I'd really say is get at last 4GB RAM and a reasonably big Hard Drive. Wouldn't even worry about a particularly fast CPU.

low-end desktop that can run some games if you want or media hub- $300
