Lemme peep yall on game on this thread title, think about this...

Most of the video games you are currently playing requires either hundreds of dollars in expansions, DLC, or MTX to stay afloat. No different from the printers that require ink to keep a float. Now before you think "this dumb smoothed brain marsupial can't play video games with 4 thumbs wtf :why: ", check this out.

If you go to a Goodwill, there's always a lineup of printers from new to old that are devalued to the brim. Ever noticed that?

Most of the video games that featured GAAS ala printers, are worthless without the constant updates and transactions. Thus why you can get The Avengers game for the price of Walmart wings from a key reseller.

Now here's the GOTCHA!

Noticed how with most printers, you can't get 3rd market ink without it either malfunctioning or having sensors to avoid the usage of money saving ink. Thus why places like Cartridge World (one of my old jobs damn near went out of business, if they haven't already).

Now why you made this thread from the upstart? To enlighten on how devalued the gaming industry truly is. The real money is not in a 70 dollar game, but more so the future passes, mtx, and services that aimed to get more buck from the customer, as they need the magic skin to stunt on them fukk gamers.

TLDR- The average video game nowadays is as worthless as a printer at a thrift store.

If you have a printer that you really enjoy using you wouldn't drop a extra 20 to keep using it once it runs out of ink?

It depends. I know for sure the one I had (Epson I think), that jawn would print godly, but would run out of ink in a instant. Thus why most companies have ink subscriptions ala games being behind a paywall to get the most basic way of getting your money's worth.

I can dig it, I just view GAAS and dlc a bit differently.

If the product is trash, yea I bush it and buy the next one. Wouldn’t even think about the DLC for it

If it’s a good product I’ll buy the extra shyt cause I enjoy using/playing it.

It’s not required. If it is I might not make the purchase in the first place

Square biz. For instance...

Three games I actually make sure get refilled with ink:

  1. Rainbow Six Siege
  2. Counter Strike 2
  3. WOW
Like the Epson, I got quality pictures and better sensory with the printer versus the HP which is common (Roblox/Fortnite coin), but the overall quality of the games are not as good ala printers.

Siege is legit, CS 2 is Counterstrike, and WOW probably gave me more gaming time than most of the games I have ever played. So it's only right to support.

Yet like printers, you are not getting your money's worth. Word to Canon.

Best personal example I can give is NBA2k.

I've been off of 2k since like 19. Either waited till it was on deep discount, or free through PSN.

Had mad fun with 2k24 (free on PSN) and bought 2k25 on release.

Found myself having a good time on 2k25 and bought some VC.

That's the way it should work. Give me something I enjoy and I'll support.

Catching on :wow:

Like I was trying to get into "The Finals" game, but for the life of me had a overkill amount of issues that made me delete the game instantly. Meanwhile, the game Fragpunk, I'm standing by the 2025 calender like the Narcos meme dying for a release date.

One of the things I used to do when it came down to selling printers was hiding the negatives, and exposing the positives. For instance, I always say about HP printers that it's common to get the ink as its a huge brand, despite how terrible the product may be.

Now there's a printer that's been their magnum opus for years that folks always go for, due to the price and accessibility of the ink:
