Ex-players are suing because football ruined their brains. He has to do this.

Or he can draft a waiver telling the players they waive the right to sue, because they're trading a long, normal life, for a shorter life where they get to shine on a big stage playing a game making millions of dollars.

Reed was fined this heavily because he is a repeat offender

Even though the hits he kept getting punished for were clean hits.

just give the WR's and QB's flags or make them two-hand touch targets...and why not share some of this protection with RB's, let's just allow the offense to make plays.

a fine for a shoulder hit, that mainly hit his chest :dwillhuh: can't hit below the knees, can't hit above the shoulders, now the chest is off limits. safeties should just take sundays off

Bingo....he has instilled this repeat offender mantra in people's minds for players who haven't done anything wrong in the first place. When or if Ed actually does commit a legit penalty, the world will instantly label him dirty based on a rep he should never have. Goodell was probably sitting there thinking "he didn't have to hit him that hard, they were blowing the Giants out"

There are inconsistencies in the rule all around.

Example 1. DB hits receiver in mid air in the middle of the field. Penalty 15 yards plus fine for defenseless receiver.

Example 2. DB hits receiver in mid air on the sideline and knocks him out of bounds. No force out penalty, no fine. Ruled incomplete
