As someone who has actually read quite a lot of the Koran in two different languages, having this be a meme is hilarious.

It's just.....not very good. Like not particularly interesting, attractive, well-written, anything. Imagine you have a long-winded friend with decent creative writing skills, but not actually good enough that he could ever write a real book or get it published or anything. And then that friend listened to a Jew and a Christian talking about their faiths in a Starbucks, but it was loud so he only caught 20% of the conversation and they were skipping most of the detail anyway.

Then imagine that friend decided he liked what he heard, but thought he could improve upon it, so he wrote a whole self-published book making up his own religion based half on the shyt he half heard. Each day he wrote a separate chapter, no relation to the previous day, based on what he heard at Starbucks (though half the days he didn't go to starbuck and just wrote on whatever was on his mind at the moment). And no one edited it.

That's basically what the Koran reads like. If you had never, ever encountered an Abrahamic faith in your life, then some parts might be interesting. But the idea that actual random westerners fully aware of Judiasm/Christianity would randomly pick up the Koran and find it enthralling? Not happening lol. Converts to Islam from the West are going to get that way via relationships and preachers, or cause they have something wild going on in their personal life. The Koran ain't it.

Closer to a ripoff of Judaism with some vague knowledge of Christianity mixed in.

Mohammed knew of entire communities of Jews, so he had a decent idea what they practiced and believed. But he only knew a few Christians, no actual Christian community, never saw a real bible or heard significant preaching from a christian of any sort, and the few Christians he did know were either brief meetings or lone converts who might not have even known much at all about the faith themselves.

There are multiple places in the Koran where he refers to the Trinity as God the Father, Jesus, and Mary. He literally thought Christians believe Mary is a member of the Trinity. And he claims God told him to rebuke that belief......that Christians don't even hold. It's goofy.

You know 10 maybe even 15 years ago when they had the war in Iraq and Afghanistan you had a bunch of soft rich white kids who wanted to fight against their daddies and stick it to the United States because we were a terrible world power and so they went out and joined the Taliban

They went on their myspace pages andTwitter and suddenly realized when they got there

They were so fukking stupid and so fukking fukked because dumb dudes treated them like shyt they acted like shyt and the values that they have were so antithetical to what it is that they thought they believed in that they wound up trying to get their asses back to the places that they came from only to either just get held or be made a war bride or used as cannon fodder becuase the Taliban were still Afghans and Afghans are very tribal...as westerners no matter how sympathetic you were they'd put you up to be shot before any worthless cowardly member of their tribe....

So fukkit if they wanna go let them - the world is overpopulated already so less stupid people is a good thing ...

Again, this whole gaza/Israel situation has caused me to really start to learn more about the whole pre-islamic interaction of Africa and abrahamic religions…like this whole thing is FASCINATING

And you’re talking to a guy who got 4 on AP World History :francis:

Then you gotta remember that early islam isn’t even what we think it is cause it was just competing war lords from the Umayyad through to the
Abbasid Caliphate…

Do you actually expect us to believe there is an amount of Muslim converts coming out of Tiktok that is at all noteworthy? This is some braindead "spooky Muslims are coming for your kids!"/"spooky Tiktok is brainwashing your kids!" boomer bullshyt. Why even bother sharing shyt like this? This is just "Obama is a secret muslim" email chain letters for the new era.

The way yall downplay shyt then get surprised when the numbers aren’t in your favor, much less the trends, always never ceases to amaze me.

Congratulations I guess?
