Same. Had a '07 CBR100RR way back when and would routinely get spanked by the zukis and kwakers on top end, but the Hondas were unbeatable for all around rideability.....

I got t-boned doing 45 and went through a wood post fence back in the day. Almost lost my left leg, but fortunately the ER doc fought for me to get airlifted to UC Davis for them to save it. Permanently stuck with limited mobility on my knee and ankle. Now that I got a kid, I'll most likely get on another bike again. Too many variables, too little protection. I'm fine sticking to the pedaled variety these days, though the experience of just you, two wheels, an engine and the road really is an amazing feeling.
Notice those two holes in my leg in the upper left pic
The skin grafts were probably the worst part about it though.
