Danny Granger of Indiana Pacers has injection, out 3 months - ESPN

The Indiana Pacers expect to be without Danny Granger for approximately the next three months after the star forward had an injection to treat patellar tendinosis in his left knee, the team announced Wednesday.

Granger had the injection on Tuesday. It was performed by Dr. James Andrews in Gulf Breeze, Fla.

Granger originally suffered his knee injury during last spring's Eastern Conference semifinals. The team announced late last month that he was sidelined indefinitely because of his sore left knee.

He averaged a team-best 18.7 points per game last season. The Pacers are 2-2 this season without their star small forward.

Granger has averaged 18.2 points and 5.2 rebounds in seven NBA seasons, and though he played through the injury in May, it flared up again while he was doing offseason workouts. In September, he underwent blood-platelet treatment.

I disagree. I was just telling my boy I want to see how we do without him. I believe him to be strongly overrated and actually wish we traded him in the off-season.

Time for Paul George - the one deemed the future of the team anyway- to step up, and for Roy Hibbert to play like it's his team....something his contract indicates.

Paul George Experience

If he plays to his talent, Granger will be trade bait this time next year

Its gonna be tough, doesnt hurt to have Granger in the lineup, before he got hurt in the playoffs they were giving the Heat headaches.
