the establishment/society didn't want the positive upbeat house music vibes infiltrating the destructive trap hop that they flooded the industry with.

this is not to say Azelia didn't do some straight up crazy stupid shyt, but from the jump, she was the most Influental, creative female out of her group and I could easily argue her being one of the most original dope artists of the last decade. for those of you reading that last sentence, you should definitely take a listen to her early music. now if you've never actually been to a real party with true house music by a real house DJ, it might be difficult to understand why this type of music alone is so powerful. The fact that AB blended it so perfectly and effortlessly on beat with flow and lyrics was never done before....not consistently.

I believe she had the type of music that could easily transcend genres and taken hip hop to it's rightful place OVER POP. See, Nicki was doing a poor man's Azelia the whole time she was in her pop lane, but couldn't really flow over a house beat with the finesse and flawless execution Azelia did. The type of beats she would kill even the best MCs we herald today couldn't catch or do anything with it.

Overall House Music is very positive and upbeat and puts you in a really good mood. I like alot of trap but it we're being honest it's mostly self destructive, vain and empty repetition over a hard ass beat. Occasionally you'll have some artist that break the mold, but as a whole, this is the direction that the culture went in and now has took a turn for the worst.

I'm not saying Azelia was hip hop's last great hope or that house music should've been the new wave for hip hop, but we did miss out on a vibe and a wave that could've been more uplifting. During her come up it seems Nicki got the push then a literal carbon copy aussie backed by the king of the trap himself was pushed to the top....as if to totally erase her from existence.

What ya'll think?

Putting my personal feelings for Azelia aside, this is actually a well thought out and interesting theory.

So do you think Azelia would be further ahead with her career if she made trap or gangsta bytch music? (shout to to Cardi)

yeah that's basically what i'm trying to say. the powers that be WANTED trap and all the offshoots of it to become the sound and lifestyle that represented Hip Hop culture. the truth is, house and hip hop are very deeply connected in terms of original vibes and form. the heavy use of samples, call and response, and the movement it naturally creates are connected. i think Azelia was bringing that back and was actually truly nice with it and they could not have that.

The theory is BS. I know people that knew her in High school, she always had a propensity to be crazy. Becoming somewhat famous just magnified it, and having un-monitored access to twitter buried her. Only person to blame is herself.

She made dope music though.

There's lots of people that do ignorant shyt on social media constantly and it doesn't get magnified or kill their careers. alot of artists actually go viral and blow up ex. cash me outside girl, lil pump, the book gang nikka...kodak. plenty of artists say and do ignorant shyt and get forgiven or even boosted...or can at least ride out the storm and come back out even if they continue to be crazy...look at kanye.

i'm just saying, it just seems her controversies are magnified and held against her purposely even though controversy is what all publications even people themselves want. i'm not saying she isn't crazy ALOT...i'm saying it's held against her and magnified and even prior to the outbursts her music was held back...style and name copied and buried alive...

If you talk to just about anyone that "went to school" with a celeb, they usually say some shyt like they were crazy or socially awkward.

It's because most artists who really believe in themselves and their art, will come off as weird to folks that have already fell in line with the programming that society pushed on them.

I grew up with Allen Iverson, knew him since I was 4 years old, and can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that he is by far the biggest a$$hole I've ever met in my life.

But that a$$hole in him allowed him to take his scrawny 5'10 frame and dominate a NBA full of nikkas on average like twice his size.

But she went to one of them performing arts schools, she wasn't the only celebrity to come out of her class. But she's the one who everyone knows had a temper and was a bit crazy.

It's just who she is. Her label/agent really should have taken better care of her, and she really needed better, strong mentors.
