"the world is so full of people, so crowded with these miracles that they become commonplace and we forget... I forget. We gaze continually at the world and it grows dull in our perceptions. Yet seen from anothers vantage point, as if new, it may still take our breath away. Come... dry your eyes. For you are life, rarer than a quark and unpredictable beyond the dreams of Heisenberg; the clay in which the forces that shape all things leave their fingerprints most clearly."

the Watchmen is beautiful brehs, especially that Dr. Manhattan chapter :to:

More good news. It's actually a few months old, but I've been waiting for this for about 20 years......

20th Century Danny Boy: Coming To A Marvel Comic Near You...MIRACLEMAN!

The final chapter has now been written in one of the longest running copyright/ownership sagas in the world of comic books. With a few filings in the Trademark court, MIRACLEMAN has now been set free, in a manner of speaking, and is now owned, fully and solely, by Marvel Comics.

In 2001 Neil Gaiman filed an opposition against Todd McFarlane's trademark registration for Miracleman. It's a little known aspect of the bigger case, and it has been running, concurrently, with the main cases involving the two. Only two days ago the case was resolved with the opposition being withdrawn and the case closed, but there was more. In addition to the opposition being withdrawn, McFarlane has had to abandon his claim on the Miracleman name for all time. As if that wasn't good enough, only last week a new trademark application was lodged for Miracleman, this time by Marvel Comics.

Clearly part of the settlement between Neil Gaiman and Todd McFarlane included McFarlane giving up his rights to the Miracleman name, and a deal between Gaiman and Marvel would have been sealed as far back as the lodging of the original case in 2002, when Marvel advanced Gaiman money against the 1602 mini-series. The actual machinations of the deal will surely see the light of day eventually, but, for now, with Marvel now owning both the Marvelman and Miracleman names and trademarks, the way is now clearer for both a reprinting of the Miracleman/Marvelman series by Alan Moore, Alan Davis, Garry Leach, Rick Vietch, John Totleben and co, along with the Neil Gaiman/Mark Buckingham Miracleman series. It also means that, finally, Gaiman and Buckingham might well take the opportunity to finally finish their storyline, over two decades after they started.

It might be Marvel Comics, but, for the first time since the early 1980s, the rights to Miracleman/Marvelman are sitting with the one publisher. Expect an announcement from Marvel in the very near future.

:blessed:

THANK YOU BASED-MARVEL!!!!!

:whoa: what's this kind of talk doing in HL?

You ain't knowin'? Sheeeeeeiiiiiiittttt, Alan Moore & Neil Gaiman are the 2 most talked about authors in here. I'm more partial to Moore since he took over DC's Swamp Thing in the 80's and did some stuff to Batman that had me like......:mindblown:

Gaiman.........I'd advise you to smoke a LOT of weed or take DMT to appreciate his stuff. Just reading his work is like an out-of-body experience.

Can't forget, Da Gawd, Frank Miller. If you've never read Ronin or Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, get them.

I've been off Marvel for a minute. I just want the Moore, Gaiman stories to be published.

Moore left the series after issue 16, I think. Then, Gaiman took over and the publishing company (Eclipse) folded @ issue 22.

Gaiman was on some other shyt, though. Where Moore took the 'normal' superhero route, Gaiman went a few steps further and had MM become the Earth's 'Savior'. People were actually worshipping him as a god......:wow:

Is the writing on that same type of level as the Watchmen in those joints tho? That's what I really love about the Watchmen.. The writing is so intricate, connected, and just genius.

Miracle Man is one of the comic book series where the early issues are not as valuable as the later issues. Issue 1 goes for about $15. Whereas, issue 15 goes for about $150. Issue 15 is by far the most valuable and sought after Miracle Man book.

That's when he kills Kid Miracleman before he destroys London. That fight was EPIC!! I'd have thought issue 9 would be more valuable. Not everyday you see childbirth in a comic book. I mean, it was REALLY graphic, too.

I have ALL the issues up to 22......:stylin:

Alan Moore is one of the greatest writers of our generation. He gets dismissed by a lot of society because he writes "kiddie books" but he drops some shyt...wow. Gaiman too.

Yeah. He wrote this a few years before so it isn't as 'polished' as V for Vendetta, but if you're familiar with his work you won't be disappointed. If anything, dude was less 'reserved' about what he was writing. The story is a true mindf*ck.
