A power rack gonna be the most bang for your buck which would set a rectangular area that would be hard to move.

personally, I had my heavy punching bag hanging from the attic door (one story house) as door can handle the entirety of someone’s body weight and the punching bag like 60lbs.
This just an example

Storage area would be your designated workout area. Either end could be where the power rack is set up so you have room to pivot around the punching bag

I’m sorry...”She” said it was cool?

you go ahead and transform the garage into a work out / man cave without asking the Wife :russ:

For real though we made a good trade. She can do the backyard and the house however she wants ( we usually like the same shyt anyway) and I can make the garage my only me or my peoples spot.

Once I get that sport court in the backyard and this garage

quarantine life and after this bullshyt will be :blessed:

If you're building muscle then get a bench, pull up bar, and then some Hex weights, and a bar with decent plates.

That is enough really. With a bar for benching, rows, shoulder press, and curls you'll be good.

i just finished my garage, very happy i finally pulled the trigger

a few recos...

https://www.studbarpullup.com/ for pull ups, takes up minimal space and is extremely durable and sturdy.

i'd recommend bumper plates over traditional metal plates, more suitable for outdoor use.

same w dumbbells, go for the rubber over metal for the same reason.

be careful with the heavier duty stuff like barbells, racks, stands etc. the better quality stuff is usually made w heavier gauge steel and will likely hold up longer.

power rack with 300+ in various plate sizes, bench (adjustable), high weight dumbbells (around your limit), good adjustable dumbbell weights for lower weights, floor mats, tv and some speakers.
