The whole nepotism in sports that the media started pushing because of Bronny is ironically hypocritical.

Because it happens all the time in sports.

Athletes with zero journalism or media experience literally walk into lucrative jobs to n they field because of who they are or who they know. Tony Romo literally walked from playing football directly against into a prime time broadcasting job with no dues paid.

And all of these podcasts by athletes are nothing more than them leveraging their name and resources into a platform bypassing regular people struggling to do the same thing.

Blake Griffin’s brother played 4 years at Oklahoma and only averaged 6 points a game for his career… He was a second round draft pick. He only played 8 games in one season. You don’t think he even got drafted in the first place because of his brother?

Nepotism resulting in a guaranteed spot on a team out the gate like this is NOT rampant idgaf how much stans and media try to change the narrative.

Just because it happens in sports and everyday walks of life doesn't mean that it's okay or shouldn't be called out. We actually do point and call it out and this situation with Bronny shouldn't be the exception.

This whataboutism that people love to play will always be corny.

I'm talking about sports media, not sports itslef.

Brian Windhorst entire career on the national stage was a direct connection to Lebron James for crying out loud :mindblown:

We ALL know this. The issue I have is when dudes like @jaydawg08 and Klutch plants try to act like Bronny is here on merit and actually has potential. Just keep it 100 and say what it is.

Like Kendrick said, the audience not dumb.

Potential is in the eye of the beholder.

The T'Wolves had 2 chances to draft Steph Curry in the first round, and saw potential in 2 other jobs.

Hasheem Thabeet was a lottery pick...

The Bucks traded Dirk Nowitzki for Robert Traylor...

You can come up with millions of bad draft picks and trades from every team. It is what it is. Trying to blow up a 2nd round draft selection because of the players last name is dumb.

Steph and his pops made it clear that they wanted no part of Minnesota. Let’s not have revisionist history for narrative purposes.

Stop whining. Bronny go keep getting this work because HE is trash. He should've taken his own route. Instead he's about to become a league wide joke. No amount hoe-babble like this is going to change the outcome

And how much media coverage did Taylor Griffin get? Was the majority of the pre and actual draft coverage focused on him? I doubt his face was on summer league promos.
Brian Windhorst entire career on the national stage was a direct connection to Lebron James for crying out loud :mindblown:
And people had the :gucci: when he got hired by ESPN, especially because I don't think it's ever been stated that there is a direct connection, he just happened to be the local reporter that covered Bron in HS and when he was with the Cavs. This wasn't a case of nepotism at all.
