Read that Take Me Back To LA was supposed to be on After Hours

sometimes grateful to be less involved online, or would have burned this song out years ago, but it's brand new to me lol

idk i read different thing about it too

same as you also read that it was scrapped

idk. i feel like it was always planned to be on this album.

it just makes sense thematically. but then again he did have the birds 1&2 on thursday. with Birds Interlude supposedly in between those tracks. but that idea was scrapped. Unless i read rhat wrong

What really connects me to Weekdn's music is obviously my age, (his and Drake are the two biggest artists of our generation) I turn 39 late this month, so Weeknd has been around since I was 25. but the other part is that he evolved a lot as an artist, with a lot of confidence.

He's tried new things, he's gone out of his lane. He shifted into a different kind of artist, lyrics are sharp, relatable, sexual, but not the same way they were 12 years ago. He has developed a style that ages well. and as a persona, he's very background, keeps the focus on his music. it's pop music, but it feels very personal.

His music doesn't feel stuck or trapped in a mindset or age. it feels like it moves as we do.
well put friend

his music ages like fine wine

Trilogy is 12-13 years old and you can still play it like it was released yesterday . Kissland aged well .. even when he went pop with Starboy , they still play Die For You on the radio and that song is 7 years old

this man is truly a generational talent , and I feel for all the people who still sleep on him :wow:

He would be better if he didnt curse so much. His music sets a mood then the vulgarity ruins it. There should still be rules about RnB

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
I'd like him to try straight rnb...

We all would breh…

But In the context of his popularity…

And given he likes to make stadium status tracks…

Straight rnb wont sell out said type of venues.

And you cant sell the devil thru baby making music.

#edit - watching the san paolo stream now… crazy shiit. Sounds like some house of balloons type recordings.

This is what the diehards wanted, right?

but to play devils advocate , vulgar r&b always been a thing (ex. R. Kelly and Adina Howard)

and new artists like Tank , Bryson Tiller , DVSN , Summer Walker are spicing up R&B .. even Muni Long be cursing in her songs and she's a sweetheart
