I understand why they replaced her but why did they choose someone so..........contrasting.

I think the OG Aunt Viv was a better fit for the show (maybe I'm biased cause I like the earlier seasons better) but the OG was more of a strong character, light-skin Aunt Viv was there to be mad at Uncle Phil every week. 
it's funny how they played into it with Jazz when they switched her up and the random comments he'd make, he did the same when baby Nicky grew up from a infant to a 4 year old.

So very true. The first 3 seasons were the best by far. Anyone notice how after Bad Boys Will Smith started acting like Martin? im not gonna lie, the second claire fit the family better than the first one. She looked just like the little sister (forgot her name)Kind of like claire on my wife and kids
Plus I heard the first Claire's real parents didn't want her on the show anymore
I thought they made a little slick comment about it on the first episode.

I didn't like the new Viv at all. Only good thing about her were the breast meats. They always had her crying and shyt. The old Viv never played that.
