Lakeshore hires Priest screenwriter.

Lakeshore Entertainment is rebooting their Underworld movie franchise.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the producers have hired Priest screenwriter Cory Goodman to pen a fresh start for the franchise, which has earned a $459 million worldwide since the 2003 original debuted.

The last entry, 2012's Underworld Awakening, was also its biggest hit, grossing $160 million worldwide.

Screen Gems have distributed all the films in the vampires vs. werewolves series, which made Kate Beckinsale an action star.

I think one of the reasons was they had the whole dark-toned vamps vs. werewolves thing before it got over saturated with the mainstream. It doesn't stand out as much now. I don't know how the reboot will do tho. I might check for it cuz I'm a sucker for these type of films
