I saw that this was the case back when they stopped allowing the ATCQ and De La Soul's of the world to have and place in hip hop and and started pushing that "I'm a hustler not really a rapper" con. By the time 50 cent came out hip hop became SO stereotypical it didn't make sense.

I remember when 50 Cent dropped his first and second album and he was shirtless in both. Back then, I didn't think anything of it but now as a adult, I look at it like who the hell was he trying to attract with that?
