So I found this article interesting, and thought I'd post it. One of the charities being called out only gives one half of one percent of the donations

I wasn't able to understand this list -- like what do they do with the money -- but the article basically says that most of the money just goes to fundraising it's like a scam

doesnt give to any charity for that very reason. i just try to help people directly whenever i am n a position to do so. some of these nikkas that collect money at major intersections here in bmore for so called "charities" look shiesty as fukk. i hit them with the face everytime i get approached.

what a bunch of dikks. but i think philanthropy's a skill few people have. ebay's founder is a genius at it. but most people w/ money wouldn't know how to effectively put it to use to help others

Not surprised at all.

I watched that documentary about all the "PINK" items and gear that sell thats supposed to support breast cancer.

Its like all a scam. Like 95% of the cash being made off all that shyt doesnt go anywhere near the foundations or research sites.

They said AMEX was claming to donate a "percentage" for every transaction made with one of their cards for a period of time, it was like a month.

It came out that it was 1 cent per transaction.

So if you spent 1 dollar is was a cent and if you spent 1000 bucks, it was a cent.

Yeah it's basc. saying that the money not being donated goes to paying solicitors, but if a charity is only giving 1% to a cause, I'm assuming alot of people are lining their pockets with money that's not meant for them.

This is why churches are important to have in communities, at least church money directly affects those it supports.

PROBLEM IS THE SOLICITORS ARE IN BED WITH SOME OF THE CHARITIES. THE CHARITIES NEED THE SOLICITORS AND THE SOLICITORS ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF IT.

CHARITY 1 MAKES 100K A YEAR WITHOUT SOLICITORS
CHARITY 1 MAKES 10MIL A YEAR WITH SOLICITORS

EVEN WITH A 10% CUT THE CHARITY IS STILL BRING MORE TO THEIR CAUSE. THE SOLICITOR IS RAPING THEM BUT THE CHARITY HAS NO CHOICE BECAUSE THEY STILL BRING 10X WHAT THEY WOULD BRING IN WITHOUT THE SOLICITOR. IT'S fukkED UP BUT NOT fukkED UP AT THE SAME TIME.

LEGIT CHARITIES THAT USE SOLICITORS ARE THE ONES I FEEL SORRY FOR. THEY ARE KINDA STUCK.

I AGREE. BUT YOU SHOULD PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT CHURCH YOU GIVE TO. THAT FINE PRINT SAYS THAT THEY RESERVE THE RIGHT TO POINT YOUR FUNDS IN THE DIRECTION THAT THEY SEE FIT. YOU CAN CHECK BUILDING FUND ON THAT BOX BUT ONCE THAT NEED HAS BEEN FILLED THEY CAN USE YOUR MONEY TO PAY FOR WHATEVER THEY WANT. THAT'S ONE OF THE REASONS WHY SOME CHURCHES HAVE A BUILDING FUND. IT'S A NEVER ENDING MONEY SINK THAT ALLOWS THEM TO PLAY WITH THE MONEY HOWEVER THEY WANT.
