The Ten Commandments. Are they weighted differently?

I'll cut to the chase. Esp for those who believe in God.

Is killing worse than stealing? Is coveting another man's wife worse than not honoring your mother and father?

They are all sins and all on the list of not making it to the pearly gates. We have all broken one of these commandments, sometimes daily, but it seems we penalize differently in this world. Cheating you don't go to jail but you will if you kill somebody. But that is not the point. The point is how do we decipher from these commandments, God's requirements to make it in heaven?

So to all those who believe in God. All atheists can GTFO or lurk cuz I know you don't believe so your opinion doesn't matter.

i've always read them as being top heavy but that's just me, i can't recall if there is anything that actually says 1 > 2 other than logically thinking if god gave you a list he'd put the most important on top..?

That's if you don't repent and ask for forgiveness on them though. Since the point of being a Christian is acknowledging that you're a sinner the ten commandments are a guideline to keeping you Christ-like. You're inevitably gonna commit one of them (killing probably being the hardest) but you have to try not to and pray to God to help you. All they way till you die.

King David broke a lot of that shyt but God was still cool with him in the end.

what a coincidence that as you go down the list, it starts with the ones about 'dont worship other gods because im jeslous and vengeful" . obviously thats more important than the bad things that actually can happen on earth, such as rape and murder

So murder, while horrible, is a forgivable sin. Worshiping another god, while also horrible, is a forgivable sin.

they are both wrong.
From a belief standpoint though and from a salvation stand point if you don't believe in the first then the latter is your ass.

Like i said not that one is more important than the other, that's just how i've read them.
