Kinda based around Wake In Fright.

an obscure Australian movie, that I saw when it was re released in theaters around 2012.

Only saw it the one time, but it was as creepy, disturbing and dread inspired as any other horror. It's like a slow descent into madness, depravity, a commentary on masculine themes, rural vs. city, and a lot of homosexuality thrown in.
