The Shield and The walking dead

So I've been watching The Shield a lot lately( it's on Amazon prime) and I couldn't help but notice the relationship between Vick and Shane reminded me of Rick and Shane Relationships. The power struggle between the 2 etc. I mean the only thing missing is the walkers and them sharing the same wife.

Vick = Rick
Shane = Shane.

Doesn't help that some of the writers from The Shield were/are writing for( http://www.amctv.com/shows/the-walking-dead/crew/glen-mazzara-executive-producerwriter )

Great Show. My favorite ones are the ones with Forest Whitaker in them. I think its Season 5 and some of 6.
