Produced by Just Blaze. The powerful atmospheric beat, the groundbreaking lyrics & flow, the never-before seen level of storytelling. This is THE quintessential Jay Z track :wow:

Its the mother's name name :manny:

"At the graveside I introduce the single mother, Isis. I gave her an Egyptian goddess’s name because there’s a way we put black mothers on pedestals while at the same time saying they’re incapable of raising boys to men, which I basically say in this song. Even if I believed it when I recorded it, I can say I don’t believe it now. There are too many men, myself included, whose lives are counterevidence to that idea." - Jay Z

I think people hype this song because Jay rarely tells stories plus there's a cool twist at the end. But it's just not that great of a story from start to finish, parts of it lose my attention. I see why Jay doesn't do storytelling songs.
Nas is much better at telling stories, even though "Rewind" is similarly overrated because of it's novelty aspect.

There are a LOT of good tracks on the Blueprint II. You just gotta sit down and make your own 13-15 song album out of it.

I think people only shyt on the album because it's his "Post-Ether" album.

You tell your rival that he only dropped one classic, he drops a classic (depends on if you wanna focus on or ignore "braveheart party") out of spite?

You follow up with an above average double album..... but it's considered between sub-par and average because it's you.

You hallucinating...

Go through this whole list of songs: A Dream, The Watcher 2, Bonnie & Clyde, All Around The World, Poppin Tags, Diamond Is Forever, U Don't Know (Remix), Meet The Parents, Some How, Some Way, Some People Hate, Blueprint 2, As One, Ballad For The Fallen Soldier, Show You How, bytches & Sisters...

Those are all 1 for 1 incredible songs. This was still Jay in his prime.
I'm a be honest. I enjoyed Blueprint 2 more than the Black Album when it first came out.

This album to me, is like Jay with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome from Ether.

Bunch of random songs (Jays never been known for cohesive albums anyway) with no real direction. Doing '03 Bonnie and Clyde was blasphemous and was the worst single Jay ever dropped to date. And his most pandering single next to Hard Knock Life. How do you take a track from Makaveli album and make it a pop love song:martin:.

Honestly Jay was just full on corny to me by this point, couldn't take him serious. This album was so forced, but being Jay he had to do a double because his contemporary GOATS dropped doubles. The only song I ever really repeated from this album was Watcher 2, and I was mostly forcing myself to like it cuz of Dre and Ra. Song was good, not great. And certainly not cuz of Jay.

The bullshyt song about Biggie speaking to him from the other side, and all Biggie could do was tell Jay how great he was:comeon::comeon::comeon:

Insecure over-compensating ass.

Got Lenny Kravitz on here and shyt:skip:

And even to stay on topic, Meet The Parents is not a dope song. Compared to the trash today? Yes it's an excellent song. But that's not saying much.

BP2 is double weed plate status
