Lawyer friend of mine was telling me this while we was chopping it last night. He practices in Texas as a defense attorney and he has two clients facing 5-20 on drug charges. One was a couple brothers driving through North Austin with one weed cookie between them, the other was transporting 300 pounds. :mjlol:

Thankfully he's a good attorney so the kids that got clapped for the one cookie are just gonna get deferred probation and wont face time. But they could also afford him. :francis: But there's no reason a couple kids just driving along on a road trip should face 20 fukking years the same as the dude moving weight.

Anyway yeah, hopefully the Sackler family is one of the first ones to get got when the knives come out.

Nan Goldin, a prominent photographer, has been doing a lot of protests recently as the Sackler family is one of the largest donors in the art world. Pretty sickening that until recent revelations, they were known as some classy art patrons.

I was about to respond as this being a witch hunt or a rich Hunt . Doctors are the ones prescribing, on top of that fda I assume approved the drug as well. Like to understand how they deceived the public or doctors a bit more ,

"In one email, Richard Sackler personally directed sales reps to push doctors to prescribe extremely high doses of opioids."

"The Sacklers constantly tried to persuade doctors and others to prescribe higher doses, especially the extremely profitable 80-milligram tablet; and continually returned to doctors who were vastly overprescribing OxyContin to encourage them to hand out more."

"McKinsey’s consultants instructed Purdue Pharma on how to 'turbocharge' sales of OxyContin, how to counter efforts by drug enforcement agents to reduce opioid use, & were part of a team that looked at how 'to counter emotional messages from mothers w/ teenagers that overdosed.'"
they were clearly involved in encouraging over-prescription. but more importantly as the group making the most money off of the opioid crisis, they are more capable of paying damages to the impacted.
