The Rock may not be working WWE WrestleMania 41 after all in what has been expected to be a showdown with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, something heavily teased coming out of WrestleMania 40.

The Rock showed up at last Saturday’s WWE Bad Blood PLE after Rhodes and Roman Reigns beat Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. Rock came out, counted 1, 2, 3 and left.


Once the show went off the air on Instagram Live, The Rock cut a promo on Rhodes and said that a lot of BS had been going on. As previously reported by WrestleVotes, a triple threat match with Rock, Reigns, and Rhodes is on the table for WrestleMania 41.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Rock is not scheduled for WrestleMania 41 next April.

When asked about the triple threat match, a source stated, “He’s not going to be able to do Mania. He already gave word that he wouldn’t be able to do that match.” Meltzer reported that there was no specific reason given past being “told that different reasons were given to different people.”


Meltzer said he knows that when it comes to The Rock, he’s gping to be all in if he does a match and that means getting into the best shape possible. It was added by a source, “The story is simply his schedule got too heavy, he couldn’t commit to doing it right.”

Hopefully this is meltzer getting worked, cause last he heard they were pivoting from Roman vs Rock to Rock vs Cody and I didnt even peep anything about a triple threat

Seems crazy to me Rock couldn't get his schedule cleared, especially with the Netflix launch, that's even more important than Mania tbh. Mania will do fine but they need all the stars they can get for the start of the Netflix era

It's not about making the exact date, he could easily do that but if he does the match he wants to do the entire build too like he did this year
