That "poor" overrun gain for Punk and Rock is a little misleading.

Usually the second to last segment of the night loses a bunch of viewers (Big Show/Kofi the week before lost over a million) and then people tune back in for the main event/overrun but this week the second to last segment (Cena/Ziggler) not only didn't lose the usual hundreds of thousands of viewers, but actually made a gain. So the final segment couldn't gain the usual 500,000-800,000 because Cena's drawing power made sure the viewers were already there (he gained in a segment that usually loses viewers the week before also - meanwhile Punk still isn't enough of a draw to gain in those type segments since his match with Brodus lost viewers).

If the second to last segment had been something like Alberto Del Rio vs Kofi Kingston the last paragraph would probably read like "Del Rio vs. Kofi lost 400,000 viewers. The closing segment with The Rock"s concert and the brawl with Punk gained 600,000 viewers for a 3.20 quarter rating." and sound a lot better.

The idea that Rock needs a Kofi Kingston lead in to bring viewers in is absurd :childplease:

Dude transcends wrestling.

:deadrose: at all of the random shyt that's said when trying to make a point ...

Dude is one of the greatest draws of all time and a RELEVANT star and he needs a Kofi match to make it look like he's doing well? If anything, that shows that ratings are mostly bullshyt because they're HIGHLY circumstantial and can be spun to fit any view....

:ohhh:

We gonna ignore the rating going down this week? I don't really care. Just find it interesting.

The January 14th Edition of Raw Dominates Cable Ratings- The return of the Rock is delivering for WWE in the ratings, and likely making the USA Network very happy. In particular, the January 14th edition of Raw scored the 1st, 3rd and 4th highest hours for the week on cable. WWE separates Raw into three shows in order to increase the number of viewers they claim watch WWEprogrammingeach week.
