The Rock is the only somewhat active main eventer left from the Attitude Era.

This weekend, HHH retired, Undertaker said his goodbyes, and Stone Cold competed in his final match. The only main eventer from the Attitude Era that is left is The Rock. I know some people will say Edge, Jericho and Jeff Hardy, but Edge and Hardy became main eventers during the Ruthless Aggression era, and Jericho became a main eventer in the WWF around the transitioning of the Attitude/Ruthless Aggression eras.

In my opinion, the Rock is the only major star left from that era. Will he wrestle next year in Hollywood when Mania comes? Maybe? Or will he go into the HOF next year?

Don't count out Kurt Angle. I just know he's gonna come back for 1 more match. He don't want his last match to be against Corbin lol
You right, it’ll be against Roman… the table is set for that to happen.

I get the point in the OP and agree. The WWE is relying too much on past glory instead of trying to build new stories (hey that rhymed).

With that noted, the ratio of Attitude Era main event guys who are active now compared to retired from ring activity makes sense. The Attitude era ended over 20 years ago now.

No matter what happens between the media, the IWC and these wrestling companies, kayfabe is still going to be a part of all this. In kayfabe, a wrestler should have a career that's relative to or shorter than a football player. You'll have your Tom Brady-outliers like The Rock, but most won't ever get there. You'll have the occasional Darrelle Revis type who stays in longer than they should (The Undertaker). Not really a great comparison for Stone Cold but that also goes back to the kayfabe argument (which worked perfectly, btw, Austin was over this weekend).
