Just saw The Retrieval (2013) last night. (Before I made this thread I searched for any others. Looks like @strapped referenced it here: http://www.thecoli.com/threads/upco...-the-coli-edition.40493/page-34#post-11124987 --- so credit to him)
Movie details: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2635006/
Great movie. I loved it.
The story follows a young black boy and his uncle who are ordered by a white bounty hunter to find and return a wanted black man.
There's not a ton of dialogue, and a lot of the beauty of the film is in the actors' mannerisms and facial expressions. There aren't many characters and most of the movie focuses on the boy, his uncle, and the man they are trying to bring back.
It's not exactly a slavery movie but it kinda makes me glad that I saw this, especially since I was a bit disappointed at the tone behind Django Unchained recently.
Personally, I watched this movie with subtitles on.
It is in English, but sometimes it was hard for me to make out what was being said/mumbled.
Just an FYI.
