Legitimately one of the saddest movies I've seen. As a youngin I was not expecting all those cats to die
Such a powerful scene...it went over a lot of folks heads who thought it was jsut about prayer before death...it was about the ritual of agency and collectivization that is inherently in blacks...in fact, the whole movie is about that; One of the greatest movies ever, just a perfect masterpiece.

The entire back half of that movie is a tear jerker.

The scene where Matthew Broderick (knowing that he's likely to die) releases his horse and walks through the soldiers as they cheer.
Denzel picking up the flag and leading the battle....I'm not a nationalist....but that was a powerful moment considering how he was on some fukk this shyt earlier in the movie....
Fantastic movie, great performances all around, and the soundtrack is incredible.
The confederacy was nearly exclusively about preserving slavery. These cac fukks with confederate flags are ALL racist.
It's disgusting that that flag still flies on federal buildings in this country.
