obvious spoilers here.

The Zanarkand Tidus came from is a recreation of the real Zanarkand. The leader of Zanarkand realizing his city was gonna be destroyed in a war they were losing turned come of his citizens into Fayth (whatever the hell that is) and used them to summon up an Aeon (like Sheva or Ifrit) and that Aeon was the Dream Zanarkand that Tidus was from.

i guess they all did it because they wanted their city to live on forever after it was destroyed? i guess that also makes Tidus part of an Aeon (Dream Zanarkand) which is why he disappeared at the end of the game because the Aeon was dismissed due to the Fayth not wanting it to exist anymore as they were tired of summoning it.

this doesn't even address how Auron a real person that apparently died "rode Sin" to Dream Zanarkand and existed there with Tidus. I'm playing through this game on my PC through PCSX2 and its as good a game as i remember but the plot is insane.

if your PC is decent enough you can play Final Fantasy X in HD now.

all Square is really gonna do is render the original game at a higher resolution which a computer and PCSX can do now. perhaps they will replace some of the textures on the player models but its not like they're gonna really remake the game.

the textures do look a lil dated but the game looks good enough as it is. the game so far has been fully playable on a PC with no noticeable faults or glitches rendered at 3x the original resolution.

what i'm wondering is was Tidus a real person that died and was recreated as a dream or were the people that populated the dream city completely made up?

Storyline shyts all over overrated ass FF7
that game is a train wreck. the only reason the game is so beloved is Sephiroth and Aerith dying. to me the PS1 Final Fantasy games were released in order from worst to best with the worst being 7 and the best being 9.

They were real

Yevon, Zanarkand's ruler, could see that his people would not be able to defeat Bevelle's machina, but he was unwilling to allow his city to be swallowed up into history. He devised a plan to preserve its memory for all eternity, even if he could not save the city itself. At Yevon's order, most of the surviving citizens of Zanarkand gave up their lives to become fayth, who Yevon could then use to conjure a summoned form of Zanarkand based on the memories of its citizens. This summoned replica of the city was to be an ideal paradise, removed from conflict, and those who may infringe upon this city of memories.

Yes it was. It was an enjoyable ride watching everything wakka and the rest of the population believed in be crumble in front of their faces. That alone puts ffx into one of the best final fantasys ever. That and blitz ball. :ohlawd:

What a lot of people don't realize while playing is that the whole plot is alluding how corrupt religion is. Sin is a transgression of a religious or moral law, especially when deliberate. In other words, Yu Yevon created Sin as a bodyguard and for power, thus he exhibited lust, pride, and greed (and possibly more): three of the seven deadly sins. Sin may also be a representation of the Christian concept of "original sin," and the Maesters state Sin can never be vanquished, as humanity will never be that pure.
