Wearing Lions gear when it wasn't cool
Goes to show how my game choices and allegiances, if you will, have changed. No longer am I the Squaresoft and Nintendo worshipping fanboy that I used to be. I wanted to speak Japanese just to have a conversation with Shigeru Miyamoto. A nikka had the Nintendo Power hotline on speed dial for tips. Mike Tyson's code is still ingrained in my head. *007-373-5963* yet I can't even remember my phone number from five years ago.
I'm at work and I'm watching everything with indifference about the WiiU stuff today. I remember when Super Mario 3 came out, I went to my friends house every day to play it. When I had a Super Nintendo and my cousin had a Genesis, nikkas would have shouting matches about blast processing and Mario styling on Sonic. Now to the Wii, even though my Nintendo-itis had dried up a bit, nostalgia told me to get one, basically for Zelda and it was
Fast forward to today, I was hoping for that same vibe, that same feeling. I know that the games Nintendo makes are still good to great. They are soulless though. Technically flawless but there is still an empty feeling when playing them. I typically buy everything under the sun, I am a technophile so I should be spazzing out at the prospect at new hardware yet I'm looking at the screen like Bruh Man used to look at Martin, with a blank ass expression. For those of you that are excited about today and Nintendo, I didn't want to rain on your parade, but I just wanted to say or type this.
