Started watching The Outer Limits today with my parents, and realized/recognized a trope I've always hated in one episode. The trope of Aliens coming to earth. And (A) Death doesn't exist where they come from and (B) they are here to judge humanity.
Let me get started. And if you wanna take this thread down, this is in NO WAY similar to the movie moments thread(ya'll know what I'm talking about) This will be simply about TROPES.
So anyways you mean to tell me, ya'll evolved over billions of years but never knew about death or dying in your species? How is that possible? What is the population of your planet? Ya'll don't know suffering or pain? Wait so is everybody equal? Is their no Heiarachy?(SP?) Now to (B) B is the most absolute bullshyt ever and has been done to death from everything to Star Trek to Aladdin. So you come to earth, a type 4 civilization and tell us, we need to die because potentially thousands if not tens of thousands from years from now. Humanity will become some kind of war like civilization and we will try to conquer the universe? OK fine, but if we were able to reach out maximum potential and become able to travel the cosmos, you don't think Humanity would have changed by then as well? Furthermore, what kind of shyt is it for an advanced millions of years beyond ours to approach us and be like
Ya'll gonna fukk up. So I'm spose to believe every other civilization started out enlightened. And also your killing off a planet of billions of sapient and sentient beings on a hunch? That's hypocritical as fukk.
And another thing...why is the fate of humanity left up to the fate of the one person that the aliens happen to come into contact with? That's stupid as fukk. If I'm from another planet and I so happen to meet Hitler or Pol Pot or just some random individual. how the fukk does that negate the other 7,000.000,000 people on the planet. That's like a random alien landing outside a frat house, chilling with some a$$holes and being like. "Damn this planet full of motherfukkers getting girls drunk and trying to smash" like REALLY?
