it was 48.9 and took the baton on a bit of a start. It doesn't work like that when you run 400m flat
If she ran 50.68 in the hurdles, you take 2 seconds off that and she's running 48 in the open 400. Once she focuses on the open 400 and start bringing her time down like she did hurdles, she's an easily contender for gold medalist.

It's not like she don't have experience already with the 400. It's just not her focus.

that would be like saying tobi amusan is going to run 10.20 in the 100m flat because she ran 12.2 in the 100m hurdles today

I ran track in high school. It does work that way. I've seen it up close and person with someone on my cousin's team who went from 400 to 400H, and other person who went 400H to 400.

You're acting like she won't be able to make the necessary adjustments. It's not calculus. She already has the speed needed to transition.
