nah, it's a thing in the korean entertainment industry where they overlook certain crimes. However, you can get blacklisted if drugs are involved. The actor who plays Thanos was blacklisted for 10 years because of weed. He had to spend 10 months in jail for it, and this is first major role in that industry since like 2014.

I was never too big on season 1 compared to how the whole world reacted to it but I just finished season 2 & it was weak.

Season 1 had at least characters you could enjoy for the short while they was on there lol.

Obviously expected them to go with a different angle for season 2 but storyline for this was weak.

I rewatched the first two episodes of Season 1 for comparison and it's head and shoulders above Season 2.

After the end of the first game the reaction of the contestants was way realistic. About 10 of them were on their knees begging for mercy, others were talking about police finding them if they go missing.

In season 2, contestants were pretty nonchalant about the whole thing.

I liked this season but continuing this story into the 3rd season reeks of netflix stretching this out and it shows.

Ok, we're heading into the final episode soon and with that.... I got some shyt to say about episodes 2-6

There's some things I liked about episodes 2-6 such as switching up the games, putting the Frontman in the game...keeping you guessing on how or if he's going to turn and I like how the voting is starting to get more and more violent with each turn, diplomacy is pretty much out the window.. I like these themes..

HOWEVER... this season has a lot of issues too. They spend way too much time on the voting itself. It's not interesting watching every single person walk up and vote, they've done this now like 3-4 times and there's yet another vote to come? It's such a time waster.

Also, many of the characters they've tried to develop? I just don't care about any of their backstories in the same way I did with season 1. They are half-baked at best.

Lastly, the detective and his guys searching for the island. They spent way too much time on that and these muthafukkas still ain't found shyt. It's been a very weak subplot.

So with that... they better hit the ball out of park on the finale... cause my patience is wearing thin

Welp, as expected, this just didn't do it for me like that. I knew from the creator's own remarks that it wasn't gonna hit like the first season. Too much shyt was just filler for a show with fewer episodes. I still tried to give it the benefit of the doubt, but none of the new characters have the same charm as those in the first season. None had the impact of that main PAAG chick from season one - I liked the old lady character the best. I was glad when that one extremely annoying ass character finally got murked (you know who he is).

The rebellion scene seemed to drag on after a while.

It wasn't terrible, but meh. Obviously I'll be watching season 3.

I've just started watching some other Korean show about a heist and the first episode of that has been more entertaining than this entire season.

Side note: Netflix is dragging it's feet releasing a new season for another hit Korean show (All of Us Are Dead).


That show was fire and came out only a few months after Squid Game. Season 2 of that show apparently won't come out until 2026 (for a show that came out in early 2022). That's some BS
