Finished this season, and it was mid.. It seems Netflix is trying to get away with it's bullshyt of incomplete seasons to extend popular shows.
I feel there's no heart this season, and it got repetive and all of the twists were predictable. Felt lazy to have the game master as #001 again, which made it obvious from the jump he can't be trusted. Then the navigator on the ship twist was obvious too and same with deaths that were going to happen.
What hurts this season compared to last is I don't really feel that strong of a connection with the characters and the stakes aren't there. I don't think there's any characters to really invest to this season because they didn't really develop any of them to make us care for them. I think giving the viewers a little backstory helps a lot for making us care if they stay or go.
Also Gi-Hun's plan for this whol season is dumb. WIth all of his resources you would think he could hire better people, and his plan in episode 6 also seemed dumb.
The season wasn't awful, but it does feel like a big drop in quality and my fears heading into this season happened. Netflix def played a role in making them start the season slower to extend it's lifespan to another season. They will most likely make a spinoff to make a franchise out of this. Netflix has been marketing this show heavily and they're going to make a franchise out of it
the season was enjoyable for the most part because i still like the idea of the series. If I'm being generous it's a 7/10 season because it's a good binge. If this was a weekly show it would be a 5/10 season imo
