Yeah
I think that was implied at the end of the first season :patrice:
I thought he would take a different angle to getting back to the island, not simply go back as a constant :heh:

Prior to watching the trailer I just assume S2 would be about him linking up with law enforcement and him and the cops taking down the Squid game ppl by the end of the season. If I was 456 no way I would go back to that island to play that game again after surviving the first time :mjlol:

I watched the S1 finale years ago so I may have forgotten some stuff, but I don't remember it being implied that he would play the game again. Just that he was gonna try and take down the Squid Game ppl somehow.

Hwang Dong-hyuk, the creator of the hit Netflix show Squid Game, has just admitted that he's over all the hype around the show.

In an interview with Variety, Dong-hyuk opened up about the show's massive success in 2021 and how it became a business empire for the streaming giant. Squid Game's second season will premiere on Dec. 26, and fans can't get enough of the series. Since its premiere, Squid Game has become a massive brand that has branched into merchandise, reality television, video games and more.

According to Dong-hyuk, not everything has been sweet regarding the show. He told Variety that there has been a lot of pressure to follow up on the success of season one, and he's genuinely tired of it all.

"I'm so exhausted. I'm so tired. In a way, I have to say, I'm so sick of Squid Game," Hwang told Variety. "I'm so sick of my life making something, promoting something. So I'm not thinking about my next project right now. I'm just thinking about going to some remote island and having my own free time without any phone calls from Netflix…Not the 'Squid Game' island."

This isn't the first time Dong-hyuk has expressed his grievances over the show. In a recent interview with Jean Mackenzie for BBC, Dong-hyuk revealed the stress from season one caused about "eight or nine" of his teeth to fall out of his mouth during production of the show.

I think that's just how a lot of artists/creators are. He probably thought it was great that it became such a hit but ultimately they want to do other things. Now he's tasked with living up to fanfiction that idiots make up in their own minds about what a sequel should be.

I don't have high hopes for season 2 because it sound like he didn't want to do it and they offered him obscene money to throw something out there

Sounds like ole boy needs to get out the game for good then. :francis:

Those sentiments the actual creator expresses over his own show isn't exactly inspiring confidence. :francis:I hope it doesn't turn out to be some Joker 2 shyt where it's deliberately made terrible as a 'fukk you' just to ensure no sequels are set up.

Sound like he putting the seeds down stating the new season is not as good as the first. Since he got pressured to do a follow up. IMO

Yeah this is gonna be trash.

Remember the show was NEVER meant to be as big as it was and the creator was UNDERPAID.

He is only doing this and season 3 to get the bag he never got for the first season :francis:
