Kevin Feige Confirms DOCTOR STRANGE Origin Story, 'The Ancient One''s Gender, And More
Kevin Feige has confirmed that we will indeed be seeing Stephen Strange's origin story in Doctor Strange, and also talks here about Rachel McAdams' "very, very big part" in the Phase 3 as well as which gender Tilda Swinton will be portraying The Ancient One as. Check it out!

Doctor Strange begins production in November, and we should be getting more and more casting news over the next month or two as a result. IGN were able to catch up with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige to push him for details on the movie ahead of that Avengers: Age of Ultron Q&A we've been bringing you details from all day, and despite reports that Doctor Strange will be skipping the character's origin story, he quickly debunked that. "For some reason people sometimes talked about how we're not doing an origin story, we're bored of origin stories. I think people are bored of origin stories they've seen before or origin stories that are overly familiar. Doctor Strange has one of the best, most classic, most unique origin stories of any hero we have, so why wouldn't we do that?" Well, that puts the "no more origin stories" rumour to rest!
Asked who is going to serve as the audience's entry point into the bizarre world of Doctor Strange, Feige confirmed that it will be Benedict Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange, but said that Rachel McAdams' character may do the same. "She plays a very, very big part in the movie and represents a certain point of view of the worlds that we experience in that movie, but Doctor Strange, without a doubt, is the character we follow through the movie." Talking of the movie's supporting cast, there's been a lot of talk about the gender of The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton). Will she be a man or woman? The latter, but expect some abiguity according to the Marvel boss! "We get an amazing actress to play an amazing character, and do it in a way that's very unique and doesn't fall into any outdated stereotypes that sometimes pop up in the comics from years past. It's funny you ask 'Will Tilda Swinton be playing a woman?' and you ask it because she does an amazing job of being sort of ambiguous in terms of gender. I think you'll see us playing it in ways that she's played other characters that way. Clearly she's a woman, but it is very ambiguous in her portrayal." What do you guys think about these latest Doctor Strange details?

First Glimpse Of Benedict Cumberbatch As DOCTOR STRANGE
First Glimpse Of Benedict Cumberbatch As DOCTOR STRANGE
Marvel's Doctor Strange is currently shooting in Nepal, and thanks to a Twitter user we have a set snap giving us our very first look at Benedict Cumberbatch as the Sorcerer Supreme. It's not the closest/clearest of shots, but you can check it out after the jump...
By Mark Cassidy - 11/4/2015
Again, not the greatest pic, but it still gives us an idea of how Benedict Cumberbatch will look as Dr. Steven Strange in the Marvel adaptation - out of costume, at any rate. From the looks of things the photographer went to a bit of trouble to get this shot so it's probably a pretty tight set, but if any more images become available we'll be sure to update. Thanks to Kindan for the heads up.
Doctor Strange also stars Michael Stuhlbarg, Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Mads Mikkelsen, and is set for release exactly one year from today on November 4, 2016.

New DOCTOR STRANGE Set Pics Show Closer Look At Benedict Cumberbatch's Sorcerer Supreme
New DOCTOR STRANGE Set Pics Show Closer Look At Benedict Cumberbatch's Sorcerer Supreme
Great new photos have emerged from the Nepal set of Doctor Strange and they reveal not only a much better look at Benedict Cumberbatch in full costume, but also the possibility that his Sorcerer Supreme will be American as opposed to British. Check it out after the jump!

Principal photography on Marvel's Doctor Strange picked up this morning in Kathmandu, Nepal, following yesterday's unconventional commencement. And several new photos have surfaced from the shoot (via Twitter and Instagram) with a much closer look at a scruffy Benedict Cumberbatch in full costume as Stephen Strange. Furthermore, the Oscar-nominated actor's dialect coach, Sarah Shepherd, has been posting photos on social media from the same filming location which could imply that Cumberbatch's Sorcerer Supreme will have an American accent as opposed to British.
There is no word on how long Doctor Strange will be filming in Nepal, but the Marvel Studios production (aliased Eye See You) is expected to head to London next month. In the meantime, be on the lookout for more photos hopefully with other cast members in costume. What do you think?
Directed by Scott Derrickson, Doctor Strange stars Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Stephen Strange), Rachael McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor (Baron Mordo), Tilda Swinton (The Ancient One), with Mads Mikkelsen, and Michael Stuhlbarg (Nicodemus West), and the movie opens November 4, 2016.
