If Lin isn't matched, how long before Knicks fans turn on him?

There'll be a sizable portion of Knicks fans on some Gallo shyt with Lin, especially if he produces like Gallo did. Some of them will swear they're done with the team and be back once they see us winning.

Ya'll need to stop counting Dolan's money we have Lin's bird rights which means the Knicks are allowed to go over the salary cap to re-sign him and not have to use a mid-level exception. There's also no one else who we can sign to either be a starting or back up point guard ,depending on how Lin is used, for the upcoming season.[/QUOTE]

We only really wanted to overpay for Lin because we had no pg . Felton and Kidd work for me if we get to get cp3 in the futur E

Word. This avoids the inevitable point guard controversy of starting an experienced, respected J.Kidd over Lin. Lin does not need and obviously does not want that pressure. I am happy for his payday.

I have confidence that Kidd can run this team and it seems like all of the players support Kidd running the point.

Eventually Lin would have been supplanted as starter and possibly demoralized and embarrassed. Good move to let him spread his wings in Houston.

Carmelo never bought into Lin's game. It takes time to get the respect of a star player. You can't just smile or walk yourself into being a team leader.

People saying we might still match and have 3 PGs

We will have 3 guards already with the old European that we signed. Matching Lin may make a little sense in terms of variety and having insurance in case of injury but it has many more cons than pros....both financially and team chemistry-wise. We don't need the circus or disruption.

:datazz:Cp3 in MSG !?! I hope it transpires. Like we were saying early the rockets and Lin were acting shady like he didn't want to be here. I know he's about making money but the adding money on last minute looks bad plus having trouble delivering the sheet?? Doesn't look like someone eager to play plus he hasn't even come out to say he wants the Knicks when they said we matching the sheet . These don't seem like a guy who wants to be here

Right. He has not expressed his interest in being a Knick. All of our other free agents expressed interest in returning. He has been silent.

That little move of changing the contract and adding a balloon payment is going to be remembered by the management of all teams in the league. That was bush-league.

On another note, let's all just monitor how Lin does. I wish him well but I can't help but think about the fact that he has not even had the opportunity to hit that very real 'rookie wall'. So let's reconvene on Lin in January.

I also doubt that he knows how to take care of his body for a full NBA season. Kidd was saying that he was going to teach him how to pace himself....but who is going to mentor him now? Or does Lin know it all already? Can't wait to track his progress.

I'm still trying to figure out how people think we're getting Chris Paul with 55-60 million tied up in 3 players for the next three years
