He been receiving the ball deep on the end line when last year he collected the ball a lot in the final third and closer to goal—thanks to his relationship with Xhaka.

Having to beat more players and dribble more space and taking a shot is harder when you can gather close and go.

Roy was the wrong hire.
They had no pre-season then a tough run of fixtures and they sacked him right before the next run of winnable fixtures. Knee jerk reaction

They hadn’t won a premier league match in 2023 when he was sacked (12 matches). They only scored 21 goals in 27 matches when he was sacked and they were just three points ahead of relegation. That’s how you lose a premier league manager position.

Sacking Vieira was never the wrong move. Bringing in Roy and keeping him another season was.
