Until an African team beats UK, Belgium, France or Germany at the WC in a QF/SF, all these dual-nationality brehs that are super talented will choose to play for a European nation. If Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana etc were making deep runs in the WC/winning it, the likes of Tchouameni, Olise, Saka etc would never have cold feet about representing their fatherland.

It's a shame because CIV played France very tight but that last-minute win just reinforces that belief that you gotta play for the Euro nation if you want to go far.

That said, the gap is closing, however.

:mjlol: it's really got nothing to do with that.

Why you leaving out Spain Brasil Argentina Portugal Holland for? What's wrong with this nations? Because they aren't taking the Nigerian kids?

Let's be honest the African FA's probably aren't showing the players enough love at the youth level. Keeping in contact with the players on a regular basis and making them feel special and wanted. Let alone the phuckery and politics at the FA level which could put people off. Musiala felt more German that's why he picked Germany and by all accounts rumour is Olise feels more French than anything else even tho he don't speak a lick of the language. Secondly rumoured he feels that France out of the 4 countries wanting him to represented them chose him first as a youth so he is gravitating towards them more. If you don't put in the effort early towards the players they won't come.

I'm more so talking about the African dual nationals. So it'll primarily be France, UK and Belgium.

With African FA's the youth level's have been used to develop local talent, that's where many of the current homegrown players get a chance to shine and get a big move overseas (Osimhen for example). The senior team is usually a mix of homegrown players and trying to convert periphery players to come play for their fatherland. Dourcoure for example, he'd been in the youth French setup since U17 but never got called up to play for the senior French national team. Just recently he switched his allegiance to Mali as a WC was close by. Paul Pogba plays for France but his two other brother play for Guniea (not good enough for Les Blues).

If African teams were making deep runs I think you'd see more players opt to play for the African teams.

Yes there's some fukkery with the African FAs, but if a country like Nigeria, Ghana were winning WCs you'd be damn sure brehs like Nketiah, Saka, etc would think twice about donning the 3 lions kit.

Yup you gotta get better, even for canada we sucked and saw the hargreaves play for england, Jonathan de Guzmán for netherlands, tomori for england and shun us

but now that we have the jonathan david, alphonso davies, larins etc. we are keeping our young talent

It still doesn't stop a country like Nigeria from identifying the young Euro born talent in the academies from early. Nigerian names are very distinctive. None should be going under the radar if we keeping it reality especially in the internet age. We could go thru the English academies right now and find at least 7-10 dual nationality players who could play for Nigeria.

You build the relationship early and stay in regular contact they will come. If youre coming in last min 2-3 years down the line when those players have built up friendships and relationships with other nations players then it's 60/40 whether they take up the opportunity. Humans have egos no matter how they need to be wined and dined made to feel special etc...

Athletes always are going to do to whoever is giving them the best opportunity for them to hit their particular goals. Like Darcoure changing to Mali so he has a chance of making a world Cup. Or when the 5th 6th ranked Jamaican sprinters went to represent the Gulf nations so they could compete in the Olympics because they knew they weren't going to when Bolt Powell Blake were about for Jamaica.

5 more years of Bruno Fernandes at United. Didn't even wait for Ten Hag or another manager to see how Bruno would fit in their system, or if see he'd fit at all. Banter club keeps delivering more banter.

Given the exodus that Utd are gonna have this summer, I see why from a fan’s confidence perspective they would secure Bruno. It’s looking like at least 4-5 players are leaving this summer and it would be hard to make fans but into a complete rebuild. Especially if Utd don’t finish in the top 4.

I've completely lost my confidence in Nigeria.

I think we still knick Ghana. Upon everything yesterday, ghana never really threatened and we had the better chances. It was always going to be a tight match.

Simon really should have scored when Kele put him in through.

But we need to revise that midfield ASAP. Kelechi as a CAM isn’t really working IMO. I’d also like to see Dennis start instead of Simon
