Il Capitano was always going to leave, once Boban left and turned round and said this deal was made back in Dec. Apparently Rangnick wants him to stay, unlikely tho, but Gazidis will offer him a ambassador role. Which he had turn down previously when Li owned the club, because he wants actual power and not be some face.
I did read somewhere that Rangnick will do the first season and then someone else comes in after and he goes upstairs, like what happened at Leipzig . Until the hedge fund can find a buyer, now the stadium looks like its going ahead now, their vision of the club, buy cheap, sell high is why they are bringing Rangnick.
