just put on Spaceship now :wow:

edit: and when I say wack, I mean his ability. Ye has always been good at getting his ideas across. He isnt like Lil Dap who are just retarded or shyt like that, but more like Guru. NOt technically good, but you can listen to them.

As far as the Led Zeppelin thing and those other bands I mentioned...must be a thing where I'm from :shaq2:

Thing about Kanye though was that he was always entertaining. I think it's ok to be entertaining even if you're not the best rapper in a technical sense.

I honestly think Dark Fantasy is better than Late Registration. College Dropout truly is his best album tho. I was also in college when that dropped. A game changer of a rap album.

Nowadays if the beat isn't working (Otis, Theraflu) chances are that Kanye song will be wack. But every once in a while he can still put out a Devil in a New Dress or No Church in the Wild beat that makes you go :wow:.

Can we come out and say that "We Major" is easily his most overrated song?

I'm sorry, that beat isn't that fukking special.
:beli:

for me, its Jesus Walks

I feel Workout Plan is a slept on beat by Kanye because of the ridiculousness of that song.

Especially when he bit DOOM's drums like that. Well not literally, but he copied the style of those echoing 80s snares

CD is classic, and I was hypin this ho kanye up for months, so when it dropped I had a1 credit :myman:

Kanye went off the deep end and forgot what made him hot (sped up soul samples)

He would've been heatmakerz status if he kept up with that.

Best Kanye beat? I'm really partial to 'I Wonder'.

The 9 minute Runaway though is one of my favorite songs of the past couple of years though.

I may be one of the few people that hates the part at the end of Runaway when he starts doing that vocoder shyt or whatever he's doing. I shut it off after Pusha finishes his verse.

Oh, bTW, let me get to this pet peeve.

I hate reading a music writer that quote a couple of lines from a song and use that as an example of the rapper's talent/mediocrity/suckness. They fukk it up by either quoting the hook or taking an excerpt that loses part of his meaning. Or the line will just be wack and they'll try to claim that it's dope (The Carter 4 :snoop:).

Rapreviews.com is flawed in many ways (they don't give enough respect to Southern artists, it's gotten hipster-heavy) but one thing I always liked about them is that they'd quote at least half a verse in a review instead of one or two lines.
