Stop it, this this the 2nd time you've peddled this line and its completely wrong. RvP wasn't even 30 years old that season. Neither was rooney. Only Rio and Vidic were on their way out and he had already earmarked Evans,smalling,Jones as their replacement. Add one of the best young keepers in the world and we only needed to make better signings and sign a better manager. The midfield needed the most surgery and that is were the new coach should have focused on but we got Moyes and the rest is history.

Rooney needed replacing, the midfield was weak as fck, defense was old, smallings and jones were not ready, wing players weren't any good. no right backs :comeon: man... RVP signing patched over all that just so he can win one on his way out.
