why would they loan falcao out for

Falcao was trying to push through a move to Real Madrid that never materialized and with Arsenal needing a striker, and Wenger having French connections, Monaco was willing to loan out Falcao for 20M. Basically Monaco wanted to charge Arsenal 20M to rent Falcao for a season and they would pay his wages and bonuses. To me that sounds ridiculous but that is what's on the table. Not to mention there has been mention of Falcao wanting to come.
