They were not as behind as they were in 2009 when he got there, they had like 99 points in that season. The way he wound them up before every Barca match worked against them initially because it put them off their game, Pepe was a good example because Barca targeted him and easily got him red carded. I dont think any of those Real players saw themselves as underdogs to guys they play with and won international tournaments with, they put themselves on par with them.
