I was fine with keeping him on. I'm really not a fan of calling for managers to be sacked. I felt he had begun to turn a corner with the FA Cup win. Of course now in retrospect I was probably too high off the fact of beating the "115*". I was thinking "Ok, he has figured out how to out-manage Pep with lesser resources, maybe we have something here...". I was also really enthusiastic about him coming. I thought we got somebody on the up and up ready to take the next step up, etc. But now three seasons later.....no clear plan, just flat most of the time, poor match management. I can't even pin it on just him.....there really has been a culture shift from the "glory days". It sounds all nebulous and esoteric, but we don't have that "nastiness" needed to win. Watching Arsenal the last few weeks they are reminding me of the "fire" we had in the good old days. We have absolutely none of that. Holding up Rashford and Bruno as our demi-gods doesn't help either. That doesn't mean I don't rate them. Both of them are good players. Good squad players. If comparing them to the teams of the past I would equate them to a Park-Ji Sung, Nani, Darren Fletcher level of player.....Good and solid, but not the ones to take you to the glory land.....yet here we are.....Could write a thesis on this since I've been watching United for 30+ years now
, but I'll stop there. I knew after Fergie stepped down that those days would never come back, but I did expect a better semblence of competitiveness by this time......
