How close is the comparison of Varane at 20-22 to Saliba? Saliba seems much smoother on the ball than I ever remember Varane being but what y’all think?

Varane played in a different era against the tail end of Tiki-Taka and prime MSN. He didn't have to rely on Athleticism as much, but he also had less room for error.

Saliba's coming up against low blocks and counter attacks so he's gotta be a better athlete and make last ditch tackles.

Saliba IS better on the ball, but he's required to be. CBs played a different role even 7-8 years ago.
