He offered no real threat and looked out of ideas. But the whole team was bad tho.

They looked beyond washed

Put Mbappe in front a well marshalled mid to low block cutting his spaces and he becomes limited. Its why Mbappe looks fantastic vs the bigger teams because the games are much more open and gives him the space to do Mbappe things.

This is where missing Neymar comes into play. The driving with ball the 1-2's the drawing out the defenders along with weight of pass. Neymar will drive shimmy past 4-5 defenders in small spaces.
Mbappe has these things in his locker just not to the level of Neymar did. Dembele has the ability to replicate what Neymar did bring but isn't consistent in his play or fitness. Also Dembele is a pure winger whilst Neymar is a creative inside forward/second striker #10.

Also doesn't help that PSG have no real creator in midfield.

Yep, I was thinking that as much criticism as Neymar got for his lack of tracking back and unavailability, he was always an alternative threat

Watching Mbappe over the past few years 2 things standout. He plays better with a proper CF #9 who he can play off like had with Giroud and Falcao and isn't going to occupy his spaces (kindly like how Nketiah takes Martinelli spaces when Jesus isnt in the line up for Arsenal) and he needs a link player in the line up alongside him like he had with Neymar and Griezmann in the NT.

Also his obsession with getting his numbers and made his game a lot more selfish and less free flowing.

Copa Libertadores never dissappoints..... German Cano on that final hurrah redemption arc.... :wow:

Libertadores coverage on the American version of Bein is AWFUL :scust:

Metellus is unbearable to listen to, they could put anybody else there and it would be a million times better.

besides fitness, Ill never understand why Mbappe didnt want Neymar on PSG...

but i disagree on Mbappe. He can operate in tight spaces. or at least ive seen him do It.

Because Mbappe wanted sole billing at PSG. its like Steve McQueen and Paul Newman on whose name was going to be first on the Tower Inferno poster.

Mbappe can operate in tight spaces but not like Neymar can who is the more natural creator/playmaker. Neymar has that ball on a string.
